GITA recognizes the increase in the enthusiasm and willingness from both children and adults from our Telugu community in participating in various GITA events to showcase their talent. As such, in order to encourage our local talent, especially our children and youth who GITA believes will be the corner stones for furthering Telugu tradition and culture, we at GITA are pleased to announce that Sankranthi Celebrations – 2012 event is exclusively dedicated for local talent.

Over the years, our local talent primarily included performance by children and youth, but, GITA feels several adults in our own Telugu community are blessed with amazing talent. As such, we appeal to all of you to come forward and show the rest of us what you are capable of and bring out your hidden talent.

Also, this is our opportunity as parents to encourage our kids to bring their best and show all the Telugu community what they have to offer.

GITA Cultural committee is seeking entries from prospective participants, both children and adults for various cultural activities. While the participants are welcome to present an item of their preference and choice, we encourage you to present it as a group so as to give everyone an opportunity to showcase their talent in the limited time allocated for the event.

Rangoli Competition:

In order to continue with our Sankranthi tradition, GITA plans to conduct Rangoli completion.  This time around, in order to make it easier for some of you with smaller kids and other engagements which may have prevented you from participating in Rangoli competition in the past, GITA is pleased to announce that Rangoli participant is given the choice of either creating the Rangoli art at home or use the stationary provided by GITA to create one at the event site. Participants who plan to create the art at home are required to submit their finished artwork to the cultural committee at the venue no later than 3:30PM on the day of the event.
